Dear Friends and Supporters of the Liberia Project:
This is a note that comes to you from our hearts and those of the folks in Zorzor, Liberia in West Africa.
We all thank you for your very kind gifts, which we gratefully received. Your generosity has already made an immediate difference in the lives of people in Zorzor and will continue to impact them for years to come.
Your donations were used to fund the construction of a 30 foot by 50 foot building, which is being used as a place of worship for about 90 people as well as being partitioned during the week for classrooms to educate approximately 40 children. We expect those numbers to continue to grow rapidly. Your generosity is going to help some of the children whose parents cannot afford to send them to school.
You can see pictures of this exciting project and what your donations accomplished by going to the “Pictures” page. Please also visit “The Trip” page to read the engaging day to day details that Wendy recorded in her journal.
At this time, Wendy and I are taking a rest, though not a complete break, from this rewarding but challenging venture. However, we will post information about the next phase of the project. We are going back! Our plan is to build a separate school and playground. The needs are evident and we cannot stop until we see the completion of an elementary school in this small, rural town. Education makes all the difference in the lives of individuals, communities and, therefore, nations.
Thank you, thank you, thank you! We hope that you understand how much we appreciate your willingness to help others and that you acted on that inclination.
Please use the “Blogs” page to comment. We look forward to hearing from you.
Stay warm,
Joseph & Wendy
